BIOGRAPHY
Born and raised in Geneva, Switzerland, Elkid has always enjoyed an affinity for the finer things in life. Among them: French house music, golden era hip-hop and cave aged cheese fondue. His mind was first blown by the likes of Daft Punk and DJ Premiere, prompting him to make his first baby steps into music production as a high-schooler. While balancing both disappointing grades and a hopeless basketball career, he produced a string of hip-hop beats for underground rappers in Geneva and Paris.
Upon moving to Boston for university, Elkid got right down to business, DJing parties and clubs around the city, while slowly making a name for himself and establishing a distinguished voice above the sea of other student DJ/producers in Boston. He banded together with other notable youngsters in the scene and formed Banana Peel Records, which has been a tour de force in the scene, recently celebrating their one year anniversary. Elkid and his Banana Peel fellowship strive to reinvigorate the Boston dance music scene with a relentless barrage of bass bombs and a fresh mix of tech-house tunes. He made his production debut in November 2011, with BPR002 – Pachanga EP, a hard hitting split single with two original productions, showcasing his hip-hop and french house influences.
